Lublin Skende shopping

RETAIL & INTERIOR

The exterior facades contain a number of folded steel sheets surfaces.

Jakobsson Pusterla got involved in the Lublin project halfway through the design process when the overall masterplan (such as anchor locations, size of convenience and strip centre parts) was set. We managed to fine-tune the plan to gain further leasable area and at the same time create a more interesting customer experience throughout the mall.

Respecting a tight time schedule we chose not to start all over with the design. Instead we have worked parallelly with the local consultant MWM, who continued to plan non-customer areas and the superstructure.

The exterior facades contain a number of folded steel sheets surfaces. This design concept continues inside the centre and the mall corridors, giving a varied space and interesting focal points. The width of the corridors vary according to functional needs. In several areas the ceiling folds up towards the skylights, creating a special place for seating areas. In-between those areas the ceiling and lighting comes down on a lower level to support commercial activities and kiosks in the mall areas.
